Thank you for making this year's Showers of Hope another successful and enjoyable event!

Our 5th Annual Showers of Hope event was held on Friday evening, April 20, 2012. This year's theme was Advancing the Cure. The evening included cocktails, a dinner buffet, and a live auction. The event included an update on clinical trial results for cancer vaccine research featuring Dr. Brian Czerniecki, M.D., Ph.D., Co-Director of the Rena Rowan Breast Center, Surgical Director of the Immunotherapy Program, Abramson Cancer Center, Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania. In addition to his presentation, Dr. Czerniecki answered questions about his groundbreaking research. Lou Tilley returned as our Master of Ceremonies for the third straight year.

Our VIP guests included Stanley Cup winners Jim Watson and Dave Schultz, Olympic Ice Dance champions and Olympic & World coaches Natalya Linichuk and Gennadiy Karponosov, members of Danny and the Juniors (recording artists of “At The Hop” and “Rock‘ N’ Roll Is Here To Stay”), The Duprees (recording artists of "You Belong to Me" and "My Own True Love"), The Dovells (recording artists of "Bristol Stomp" and "You Can't Sit Down"), The Rip Chords (recording artists of "Hey Little Cobra"), The Elegants (recording artists of “Little Star”), Grammy Award winner Bobby Eli, and Comcast TV DJ Corky Warren. Additional VIP guests included The Jaynetts (recording artists of "Sally Go Round the Roses"), The Majors (recording artists of "A Wonderful Dream"), Action News reporter Dann Cuellar, and internationally renowned artist Jane Bazinet. Strolling DooWop music was provided by the A Capella group The Emeralds.
